It was actually the night of my daughter's birthday, January 7th that we met. Rufus and I were set up on a blind date by our friends Nathan and Kelly. I was oblivious to it, and he was resistant to it. He tried to pretend to be a big macho jerk, and I thought he had just had a bad day. I gave him a hard time and pulled pranks on him all night to try to get him to lighten up. We hung out together every single day after that. We did not realize what was happening. One night we were playing Truth or Dare with Kelly and Nathan. Of course the inevitable happened and Kelly dared me to kiss Rufus. Of course, I did. It was really sweet. I knew right then I had found something special. On Febuary 20th he went to a Def Tones concert. After the concert he called me. That was the first time he told me he loved me. The first time those words were spoken between us. That is a big reason why we chose that for our wedding date. On Febuary 3rd we will have been officially "together" for three years. So far, these have been the best years of my life, and it just keeps getting better. We are so happy together. We complete each other. I love him, my kids love him, my family loves him, even my DAD loves him! I feel like I am living in a fairy tail princess story. I am proof that dreams really do come true!!
This is the story of our proposal....... when rufus proposed to me, he kept getting in trouble. first he snuck off during the day and made up some silly story about where he went, but i let it slide, thinking he was just being retarded.... and i told him he was retarded. Then he was going to the restroom and he suddenly ran out the door saying he needed to get toilet paper and I was like you do not think 2 rolls will get us through the night!?!? Well, he took over an hour getting toilet paper. When he got back I was all upset so I was like where did you go for toilet paper? He said the dollar store. I was like it took you an hour to go to the dollar store? He said well, I ran into Kay and she said I should tell you exactly how I feel about you. So I was all "who the heck is Kay, and how come in almost 3 years I have never heard of her, and what are you telling her that you can not tell me??? And before I could get anymore out and before he busted out laughing he pulled the ring out of his pocket and started telling me sweet things and asked me to marry him. But I got to tell you, I was really upset for a minute there. I told him he was mean and not to do that to me again, and that see, keeping secrets can get you in trouble?!!?

We are going to be married at Linfield Drive Community Church in Dallas. It should be small, but everyone is invited if they want to make the drive :) ( it is from Dallas to Fort Worth for the reception) February 21, 2009 at 10:30 am

Our reception is going to be on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Botanical Gardens in Fort Worth. Start time will be 1:30 and end time will be 4:30. We are having a beach theme and my colors are turquoise, purple, and honeydew green. This is going to be the best part for me!!! We will have to leave right away though because we need to make it to Galveston that night.

We are planning to drive down to Galveston after the wedding and reception and going on a cruise! We will be cruising to Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, and Cozumel. Seven days and seven nights! I am so excited. We have already put down the first $500, so this is all solidified for me. I can not wait!......... UPDATE: we are 1/2 way paid off!!!!!! yay!!!
UPDATE: We are completely paid off!!! the cruise is ours! all we have to do is show up!!!!!!

Right now our main focus is making our cruise awesome enough to last us a lifetime! We are asking our friends and family not to buy us gifts, just contribute to the most amazing time of our lives!!
